Mentorship
Our carefully selected mentors are respected, accomplished leaders that span a variety of fields and interests. The mentor-mentee relationship draws on career experience and advice to support mentee growth and development in many ways, always in an encouraging nature. This relationship can help to serve as a bridge for students to connect school with the workplace.
Bradley Family Foundation mentors and scholarship recipients are matched 1:1 based on an overlap of specific topical interests and compatibility. Formal mentoring relationships are intended to last the duration of financial support for each student.
The mentor-mentee relationship aims to support mentee growth and development over time through:
- Identifying and sharing relevant resources to promote mentee growth, learning, and exposure
- Facilitating networking opportunities and introducing potential professional relationships
- Offering advice based on personal experiences and insights into education as it translates to careers
- Supporting mentees in career exploration, including opportunities such as internships and co-op programs
Mentorship at a glance includes:
- Scheduled mentor-mentee check-in communications twice per student's semester
- Working together to develop mentee's short and long term academic and professional goals. These personalized goals help to guide relationship expectations as the student transitions from high school to college.
